A peek inside the mind of BLAP
  • Munchi Recap + Killon the Francis = A Very Moombah February

I’d love to say I am all recovered from last week’s Tropical Festivities at Public Works SF, however, I still have this weird whistling noise in my head.  Dancing, impromptu daggering, and general belligerence abounded as I got my Moombahton fix for the week.  By the end of the night, the dancefloor was soaked, whether from spilled drinks or from the ladies getting a little too freaky, it was hard to tell.  If you missed the live Moombah+ broadcast and/or (gasp!) had something else to do that evening, you can download the entire set HERE.

    Or individual sets here:

Mr. Franciton, the Prince of Moombah, released his much anticipated EP Something, Something Awesome for Valentines Day.  Which makes him my favorite Valentine this year (trust me, he had some stiff competition)!  Dill gave out IDGAFOs 2.0, as a teaser for the album , for free, the night before it was released.  Here it is, in case you didn’t hop on that gravy train. 🙂

    Download Dillon Francis IDGAFOS 2.0
You can also stream his collab with Kill the Noise (Dill the Noise), on soundcloud.  This track has Dillon’s typical upbeat synths and Kill the Noise’s grimy, dirty vibe.  somehow the two come together to create a beat that will make you want to move ya body.

This is one EP I won’t mind buying, each track has been absolute FIRE, but I expect nothing less! Words can’t describe how excited I am that Dill will be touring with NERO in the states this March and April.

Until then, don’t miss DF in San Diego this weekend at The House of Blues.  The badchaps have seen him upwards of 5 times, and he never disappoints! Get your tickets HERE.

Blap Productions will be bringing another Moombahton GIANT to SF next month, so mark your calendars for NADASTROM March 8th!

Keeping things going in a moombah direction, make sure you listen to this collab between two big names, 😀 Face and Sazon Booya tear this track up!

Well guys, that should be enough moombahmadness to hold you over for a bit. I’ll probably get bored this weekend while my other half is in New Orleans repping Blap and partying her face off.

Jillionaire has been with Mad Decent since the early days of Major Lazer and has had a major influence on the direction Diplo took with the ML project, giving Mad Decent some caribbean street cred.

You can read more about JILLIONAIRE in his recent interview in SF WEEKLY here.

One of Jillionaire’s most interesting projects has been the collaborative effort that is LARGE UP, an extremely well written blog which dives into the various aspect of Caribbean culture, music, fashion and more. Writer’s include Jillionaire, Eddie Stats, Max Glazer, Gabriel Heatwave (all BIG names in the tropical music game) and SF boss man DEEJAY THEORY, who will be setting the stage for the two headliners on the FUNCTION 1 at Public Works. Here’s Theory’s latest release, featuring two amazing flips on some old school outkast and some “Hyphyton” E-40/Los Rakas LOKO SHIT.

Munchi/Jillionaire/Theory will be getting some heavy help from the INT’L’s slew of DJs composed of Earjerker, Baan & BootyKlap, as well as our BASSED GOD, OTOTOXIK closing out the evening.

  • Coachella BLAST!!! :: M83

    Aaaaaand I’m back.

Sorry for the long break guys, but we here at ShneekyBiz have been busy with other ventures, including our new partnership with BLAP Productions (who may I add threw some savage after parties for Snowglobe!). Now with Coachella creeping up on us, we are going to begin filling you with info on who and what to look forward to at this years festival.

One of the larger names on the bill this year is French band M83. The group formed in 2001 and has had a bit of restructuring since, however their sound has remained a consistent blend of electronic, ambient filled vocal tracks. Now led by Anthony Gonzalez, the group just finished their sixth studio album, showing just how much their talents continue to rise.

Their latest album Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming was Gonzalez’s first double album, which has always been a goal of his. He says it was “written like a soundtrack to an imaginary movie with different ambiances, different atmospheres, different tempos, different orchestrations and different instrumentation….When I make an album it’s always about nostalgia, melancholy in the past and memories.”

M83 will be playing Friday, April 13 & 20 and I’m predicting a sunset-timed set. Be sure not to miss them and take a well deserved break from the chaos of the Sahara tent.

    See you on the field!
